Care Centre
The new Rob Roy Retirement Lifestyle Village opened in February 2009 with a fully operational, state of the art, 22 bed Care Centre. This Care Centre is situated in main building with full wheelchair access to all the facilities.
Each room can accommodate either one or two patients and has its own en-suite bathroom.
Different levels of care are available from post operative or convalescence (short and long term) to 24 hour nursing care if required.
Our 24 Hour Nursing Care includes:
- Ordering and dispensing of medication
- Administration of injections
- Withdrawing blood specimens and collection of other specimens for laboratory tests
- Dressing of wounds
- Supervision of trained staff in the care of the elderly
- Keeping and updating patients records
- Encouraging and counseling patients and relatives
- Assessing patients and reporting to doctors
- Care can also be provided in your own apartment/house on request
- Daily/weekly/monthly care available
Housekeeping and Catering
The Rob Roy Care Centre has its own lounge and dining facility that opens onto rolling lawns, and views that Rob Roy is famous for. Individual needs and special diets are catered for.

| Q: | I live in Hillcrest and am planning to have a hip replacement. As I have no close family to assist me when I come out of hospital, can I book into Rob Roy Care Centre for 3 weeks while I recover? | |
| A: | Yes. We do offer full post operative convalescence. While preference for beds is given to our residents, we do take patients from outside the Rob Roy Retirement Lifestyle Village. | |
| Q: | My husband is having heart surgery and is a diabetic so I am nervous to care for him in the first week after surgery. If I bring him to the Rob Roy Care Centre for convalescence can they manage his diabetes as well? | |
| A: | Absolutely yes. We have only the best fully trained nursing staff to attend to the needs of our patients. There are also standby medical professionals that can be called in should the need arise. | |
| Q: | Can I see my doctor within the Care Centre? | |
| A: | Yes. We encourage your doctor to visit and monitor your progress and we keep updated patients records which he will have access to. If your own doctor is unable to visit you we do have consulting doctors that visit Rob Roy Retirement Lifestyle Village on a regular basis. | |
| Q: | I hear that the Rob Roy has wonderful facilities. Do the Care Centre patients have access to these? | |
| A: | Yes. The Care Centre patients have full wheelchair access to all the wonderful facilities of the Rob Roy which includes: | |

| Q: | If I need to go to hospital for x-rays or to see my doctor, is there transport available for me? | |
| A: | Yes. We have a mini bus and driver to take you as and where required. However, an additional fee will be levied for this service. | |
| Q: | My mother happily lives at Rob Roy. If she has an emergency, can she contact the Care Centre from her apartment/house? | |
| A: | Yes. Every apartment/house is fitted with an emergency medic call system linked to the Care Centre for immediate 24 hr assistance. | |
| Q: | My frail Father may have to move into the Care Centre permanently. What are the rooms like? | |
| A: | The rooms are all new, spacious and airy. Most have views over the Valley of 1000 Hills. Every room has its own bathroom and DSTV. If they so wish, Care Centre patients can decorate their own rooms with their possessions so that it feels like home from home. | |
| Q: | Is the Rob Roy wheelchair friendly? | |
| A: | Yes. The entire complex is wheelchair friendly enabling patients to have access to facilities. | |

All residents will be provided with assistance from the Care Centre at different assistance levels and when required.
